One of today's tasks was to repair some water damage and wood rot on the frame of an exterior door. If left untreated, these things only get worse.
Cut Out Problem Area and Replace With Solid Wood
It is important to cut out all the water damage so that it doesn't continue to rot or grow mold.
Exterior Paint and Caulk Finishes Out the Repairs
Once the new wood is installed. Wood filler and sanding will smooth out the transitions from new to existing trim and a fresh coat of exterior paint and caulking will seal up the door frame to help prevent the problem from reoccurring!
